WHERE TO EAT IN SANTORINI?

Where to eat santorini

When it comes to eating, I’m never far away! I’m an epicurean. This is even one of the reasons why I travel! Enjoying local flavors with traditional aromas.

In Santorini you can eat in a small restaurant as well as in a gourmet restaurant with a breathtaking view. You know me, I love luxury, pretty views, fancy meals but I also like simplicity, things on the go and I also love to cook. So I’m going to share a bit of everything with you in this article, for small and large budgets!

Esperisma Restaurant – €€€

Where luxury meets gastronomy. A world-class menu, combined with upscale ambiance, attentive service, and striking views of the caldera make Esperisma a dining destination. Perched high above the water, Esperisma combines breathtaking views with an incredible menu to satisfy any palate. I was more than surprised by the vibe that emanates from this place. Music, sunset, the execution of the dishes… I was very well advised whether it was for the cocktail, wine or even for the dessert. I highly recommend this place! Super romantic and idyllic

Ammoudi Fish Tavern – €€

Situated right by the water, Amoudi Bay is a tiny fishing port located about 300 steps below the town of Oia. Cited as being one of the best places to watch the sunset in Santorini. Walking at a leisurely pace, it’ll take you about fifteen minutes to get all the way down. Ammoudi Fish Tavern offer delicious, traditional and gourmet dishes at around 20€. I obviously advise you to taste the grilled octopus!

Where to eat in Santorini : Barolo Restaurant – €€

Overlooking the volcano and the sea, Barolo serves a sense of peace and an unforgettable mesmerizing scenery. Barolo restaurant excites your senses and offers a unique culinary experience. The staff is really smiling and so kind ! It was a bit chilly, so they directly put a blanket over our shoulders. Everyone seems very attentive and responsive here. Their cocktails are absolutely delicious! I recommend the one based on 7 rums, the name is Bukikki Tiki (something like that haha).  As a starter, we took a tuna tataki and scallops with saffron. That was delicious !

Pitogyros Grill House – €

Eat cheaply? It’s possible even in Santorini. Direction Oia, a small restaurant which from the outside doesn’t look like much but is quite famous throughout the island. Pitogyros offers fast food at low prices. As its name suggests, it specializes in pita gyros, souvlaki, kebabs, etc. Simple & friendly, you can eat there for less than €10 per person. The interior is quite small, they have a terrace but I advise you to take your meal and find a nice view in peace. Definitely a place ‘where to eat in Santorini’ !

Katsaboo Restaurant – €€

Well hidden little gem in the Calm Collection complex. A newcomer to Santorini’s restaurant scene, Katsaboo in Fira is already making an impact with its cooking based on homegrown and organic ingredients. You can also drop in for breakfast, brunch and snacks, all served by the pool at the glamorous San Marino Hotel. We went there for brunch and then enjoyed the pool and some delicious cocktails prepared by an incredible bartender!

Yolo Restaurant – €

Second really cheap discovery, near Fira. Without a doubt the pearl of our stay! We ate there 5 times in 7 days to tell you the truth. The prices are really very low, the service is fast, the owners are adorable & the dishes are hearty and delicious! The atmosphere is there on weekends, it is a local restaurant very popular in the region. At Yolo you can eat for between 3 and 8€ a pitta, pasta carbonara, etc.

Tranquilo Bar – €

No shoes, no worries, super fresh fruit cocktails, hammocks swings and the coldest beer on the island. In short, a quiet place to chill just in front of the beach. We came across Tranquilo (in Perissa) quite simply while walking around and we were attracted by the colors of the place. It reminds me the good vibes of Canggu in Bali! A super Instagrammable place and yet they aren’t on any networks! However, they still have a website that I put HERE to be sure to find them! The place is worth the detour and I recommend a mango frozen margarita.

In terms of good addresses, there is also the Nikki Beach! If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I have a real passion for beach clubs with swimming pools and good music! In terms of prices, we are clearly at €€€€ but you can spend the whole day there taking full advantage of the swimming pool, comfortable deckchairs and a rather pleasant atmosphere.

Obviously, there are plenty of other places where to eat in Santorini but after testing several, these are the ones I decided to keep for my blog post. Arm yourself with patience or avoid peak times or simply book in advance (for restaurants that accept reservations!)
