The arrival of autumn and the rainy weather makes me want to stay in my bed watching a Netflix series or reading a good book.
In short for me fall time means cocooning time. And what better way to relax than a good hot bath with a glass of wine and as the background the crackling fire!
That makes you dream? Well, I know the ideal place to relax in this way. And it’s in Belgium, in my own country.

Located in the middle of a forest along a river “Les Cabanes de Rensiwez” offers several accommodations all atypical. Going from treehouses, hut by the river but also hut in the hill, house on the water and recently beautiful suites in an old mill. You would have understood it “Les Cabanes de Rensiwez” are unusual accommodation in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes.
Activities
In addition to being in an ideal setting of greenery and in harmony with nature, you can stroll in the forest, go on an organized hike, play golf or go kayaking.
Even if for me the best activity is to do nothing at all! We are constantly busy doing something or even thinking.. For me, “Les Cabanes de Rensiwez” it’s to be able to recharge, to find yourself.
Enjoy with friends or rekindle the flame of our couple. Light the fire, take a bath, read a book, drink wine. Or even better if you have chosen the right « hut », you can enjoy a Nordic bath or relax in your private sauna.
About the meal
Each accommodation has its own small kitchen. So you can decide to pack the ingredients to prepare a delicious meal. If you have forgotten something, the little shop at the reception can help you out. And if you bet on tranquility, it’s possible to order your breakfast (fresh bread, jams, organic apple juice, croissants etc). But also pretty baskets garnished with regional products. Or to use their catering service; seasonal cuisine prepared by a chef from the region. It’s up to you to make the best choice!
Something to know about « Les Cabanes de Rensiwez »
Rensiwez is almost CO2 neutral, they consume 90% of green energy of which more than half is produced on there. This policy allows them to avoid the release of more than 200 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.
They have their own hydroelectric production thanks to the old mill they have just restored. This one produces 90 000 Kwh / year, the equivalent of 40 households (excluding heating and sanitation). And above all, all their « huts » are heated either with wood or pellets.
In addition to this, they don’t use pesticides or insecticides for the maintenance of their green spaces. They replaced the lawn spaces with flower meadow. Because these, in addition to being very beautiful, generate a particularly rich biodiversity.
