RENAISSANCE SAMUI | HOTEL REVIEW

Renaissance Samui Thailand review

I stayed in this hotel during my trip to Koh Samui. It was a first for me and I was eager to discover it. A friend had advised me to stay close to Lamai, a well-known place on the island with the most beautiful beaches (You can read the entire post about Koh Samui here). I came across Renaissance Samui hotel by looking for hotels near Lamai.

The hotel chain

I have to say that I’m very proud and happy to have been able to work with a group as well known as Marriott. It’s unlikely that you have never stayed in one of their hotels. Marriott includes famous chains such as Ritz Carlton, St. Regis, W Hotels, Sheraton, Westin and so much more.

Warm Welcome

Renaissance Samui knows how to welcome its guests. Receiving a fresh towel is quite common and is always nice after a long trip. As for the welcome drink, it’s replaced by a delicious refreshing sorbet! What a wonderful idea. I immediately understood that this hotel wanted to stand out from others. Besides these little touches, the staff was absolutely charming and available throughout the stay.

Pools of Renaissance Samui

The hotel boasts a beautiful two-floor pools facing the ocean. A glass of fresh water is brought to you by the staff barely after you sat on a deckchair. Bath towels are available and the poolside bar serves delicious fruit platters. There is also a second 50 meter long swimming pool located high up in the hotel. Not to mention the private pool of our villa.

The restaurants

The breakfast is wonderful and very fresh. The view from the small terrace on the ocean steeps you in a relaxed and serene atmosphere in the morning. Pancakes, eggs, pastries, fruit and of course a large buffet are available. Renaissance Samui offers several restaurants (Tawann, Tapas, Banana leaf as well as room service). I only tried the Tapas and I wasn’t disappointed with the service and the quality of it.

Activities in Renaissance Samui

The person taking care of your welcome at you arrival will propose a schedule of activities. For example: the morning yoga in front of the sea which I enjoyed a lot! I would have loved to have more time to take cooking lessons, massages lessons or Thai boxing lessons! In short, an incredible list of activities is included in your stay. Little extra: a shuttle service to Chaweng & Lamai is available free of charge.

The rooms

Renaissance Samui offers different types of rooms. For example Garden view, sea view, balcony, terrace, etc. I chose a villa with a private pool. The villa is very spacious and air conditioned. The terrace, the bedroom, the living room, the bathroom, the office but also the small tropical pond: everything was charming and pleasant.

Renaissance Samui Thailand review

I can only advise you to stay at Renaissance Samui during your trip to Koh Samui.
