Aparthotels in the Algarve – The ones I recommend!

Jardim da Meia Praia Luz

My first choice of accommodation has always been luxury hotels and yet I recently had a more than fabulous experience in aparthotels on my trip to the Algarve. I have had the pleasure of staying at 3 different resorts, all offering many positive points.

Positive points of an aparthotels?

By staying in an aparthotels, it’s possible to take advantage of the amenities and facilities worthy of a hotel. Such as Wi-Fi, swimming pools, gym, easy parking and breakfast.

What’s more is the possibility of saving money or even being reunited with the family thanks to the apartment side of the accommodation. Want to make a barbecue on your private terrace with your family? It’s entirely possible! Restaurants can also be a big investment on a trip! So having a kitchen in your accommodation can be more than timely.

Aparthotels in the Algarve

The CDB Resorts group brings together 3 aparthotels complexes in the Algarve. The Jardim Da Meia Praia located in Lagos as well as Baia Da Luz & Estrela Da Luz located in Luz just a few minutes from each other.

So it was with them that I had my first experience and to do so, I stayed a few nights in each of their complexes so that I could get a feel for the concept of aparthotels. I’ll tell you about the 3 separately, I literally loved my 3 stays. Although I have a little preference for the Jardim Da Meia Praia

Jardim da Meia Praia Algarves

Estrela Da Luz

The situation of this Resort is quite good. A few minutes’ walk from the golden sand beach but also small shops, restaurants and two supermarkets. We stayed in a very chic studio decorated to the taste of the day. A very pleasant terrace with a sea view. A well-equipped kitchen, with everything you need (for the lazier, yes there is even a dishwasher; as well as a wash machine). The Resort is very pretty, there are a lot of palm trees and colorful flowers. Plus 3 different swimming pools (2 for families and one adult only).

The breakfast is quite generous and you’ll have the choice between fruits, pastries, breads, eggs, bacon, yogurts, etc. But also cereals, tea, coffee, squeezed orange juice, etc. This resort even has a gym and a SPA! Regarding COVID, here they make a big point of ensuring that everything is disinfected correctly and that each person respects barrier gestures! So if this is something that concerns you, don’t worry!

Aparthotels Estrela Da Luz

Baia Da Luz, the second aparthotels in the Algarve that I have tried

Baia Da Luz is located just minutes from Estrela Da Luz. As with the first one, a staff at the reception will take care of explaining what to see and what to do in the region. The staff are very attentive to the requests of their customers. Big positive point for this Resort, a small restaurant is located between the swimming pool for families and the adult only swimming pool and offers small meals as well as drinks. A huge facility when you’re on your deckchair dripping hot and your child wants an ice cream for example. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment on 2 floors with 3 bathrooms (including a shower room) and plenty of terraces and balconies. The view of the main terrace was just breathtaking!

Jardim Da Meia Praia is definitely my favorite aparthotels in the Algarve!

Aaaah Jardim Da Meia Praia is my favorite because it’s the closest to a luxury hotel in my opinion. The outdoor facilities are magnificent! Pretty trails, a small river even crosses the resort. The swimming pool is lined with many palm trees with a small bar also offering catering (this is where you’ll have breakfast) as well as a happy hour (I recommend the granite Gin passion or Vodka watermelon; for adults of course). Our 3 bedroom apartment was just as luxurious as the resort itself. Very classy, clean, nicely decorated with a large contemporary terrace overlooking the pool and therefore the sunset! We enjoyed this accommodation so much that we often cooked or booked on Uber eats to make the most of it.

Jardim da Meia Praia Aparthotels

In each of these resorts there were swimming pools, facilities such as washing machine, dishwasher and reception available and at your service. But also bath towels and clean sheets. A parking space closest to your apartment with an elevator, super practical for suitcases and shopping bags! Without forgetting the Rituals brand products (shampoo, conditioner, body cream, etc.).

I therefore believe with conviction that staying in an aparthotels is a good choice, moreover in somewhat more expensive regions like the Algarve, where saving on food can give us the possibility of doing an additional activity with the family.
