Tropical Oasis – Moorea Cook’s Bay Hotel & Suites
Considering the size of Moorea, we opted to stay exclusively at the Moorea Cook’s Bay Hotel & Suites. Our 4-night stay allowed us ample time to explore the island while fully enjoying the hotel’s exceptional amenities. Given its splendor, it would have been a shame not to spend time there.
We selected this hotel for its position in one of the island’s most renowned bays – Cook’s Bay. Moorea Cook’s Bay Hotel & Suites offers awe-inspiring vistas of turquoise waters, verdant mountains, and vibrant tropical landscapes. Its strategic location allowed us to easily explore the island. For instance, the Paopao pier, ideal for snorkeling excursions, is conveniently located next to the hotel.
Moorea Cook’s Bay Hotel & Suites – Accommodations
We stayed in an upstairs suite and the view was absolutely breathtaking! Moorea Cook’s Bay Hotel & Suites offers 38 suites, including 2 family suites. The ground-floor suites provide direct access to the pool and beach, while those on the upper floor enjoy panoramic views (which we found particularly appealing!).
The hotel has recently been renovated, and all suites are bright and decorated with a sleek design. They are equipped with modern amenities, including a kitchenette. Personally, I appreciate being able to cook simple meals, which helps to save on expenses, especially during stays longer than 3 weeks, while also promoting a balanced diet. Of course, I didn’t cook every day, especially since the hotel has its own restaurant!
What makes the suites truly exceptional is their intimate atmosphere and the stunning view of the bay and its sunsets. I wished I had more time to fully enjoy the terrace.
Cook’s Bar & Restaurant – Moorea
One of the highlights of staying at Moorea Cook’s Bay Hotel & Suites is its exceptional dining experience. The on-site restaurant delights guests with a diverse menu that showcases both local Polynesian delicacies and international cuisine, crafted from the freshest local ingredients. Furthermore, access to the restaurant is via a wooden pontoon that immediately gives us the feeling of being in Polynesia!
Although we did a lot of sightseeing, we made sure to be back by around 4:30 PM ! Just to be ready for the 5 PM happy hour! The sun sets early (at least during the time we were there; around 5:30 PM in June/July), and we didn’t want to miss either. After all, sipping a delicious cocktail while watching the sunset over the ocean ; isn’t that the very definition of vacation?
Activities and Amenities
Moorea Cook’s Bay Hotel & Suites offers a wealth of activities and amenities ! For my part, I prefer the pool, while my companion leans towards the beach, which was also an advantage for the hotel to have its own private beach with lovely cabanas.
We didn’t have favorable weather, but the hotel provides kayaks so you can explore Cook’s Bay. I’m pretty sure it’s an activity worth doing. Firstly, because the view is breathtaking, and secondly, because it’s free!
If you’re interested in excursions, the staff can arranges a variety of activities to highlight the best of Moorea. From guided hiking tours to cultural experiences and island safaris, there’s something to suit every interest. Check what to do in Moorea here !
